From the Telegraph & Argus of November 1, 1981...Animals on the road have caused 221 accidents involving injuries to people during the last two years. In West Yorkshire this type of accident cost ratepayers nearly £1 million a year, members of Bradford Area Road Safety Committee heard. Dogs, the major cause, were involved in 62 per cent of the accidents, a report showed. Horses were involved in 41 accidents, and cats in just six.

From the Telegraph & Argus of November 1, 1956...A resolution wholeheartedly condemning the irresponsible armed intervention of Britain in the Israeli-Egyptian conflict was passed by Bingley local Labour party last night. The resolution said this disastrous act of folly can lead only to a rapid deterioration in an already critical situation'. The report further condemned action as it was taken without the support of the Commonwealth and the United Nations.
