From the Telegraph & Argus of October 31, 1981...a West Yorkshire pools syndicate is lamenting a £53,000 win that wasn't. Four days after an elated member of the six-man syndicate announced to his mates they had struck it rich, it was discovered he had made a mistake. Far from winning £53,000, they scooped £9.56. "It seems funny now but at the time we were all absolutely sick" said member Sunny' Packers of Wood Street, Haworth.

From the Telegraph & Argus of October 31, 1956...plans for two new slum clearance areas are before Bradford Health Committee today and members of the committee visited the areas yesterday to see for themselves the condition of the houses. The new areas are in Mount Street and near the junction of Bowling Old Lane and Manchester Road.
