25 years ago: War had been declared by Bradford Council on one-armed bandits and amusement arcades. It fired the first shots yesterday by passing a new policy to ban fruit machines from cafes, restaurants and takeaways.
50 years ago: Bradford would continue to press its claim to take in Bingley, Shipley and Baildon in representations on the proposals of the Local Government Commission.
