From the Telegraph & Argus of October 5, 1981...Seaside rock is helping put the village of Saltaire firmly on the tourist map. The sticks of the traditional rock with the words "salts of Saltaire" running through the middle are now finding their way around the world. Salts managing director Edward Stanners is behind the idea. He said: "We always like to give our customers a souvenir and thought sticks of rock would be something out of the ordinary."

From the Telegraph & Argus of October 5, 1956...Twelve-year-old Richard Jessop, of Skipton, won the vocal solo for boys under 13 at the Skipton and District Musical Festival which opening today. Dr Hutchinson, the adjudicator told him that he had made his rendition of Schubert's "Joy" come to life. He said: "He gave a lovely rise and fall of tone and is unquestionably a little artist."
