From the Telegraph & Argus of September 28, 1956...Motorists are not be banned from parking at all hours on a narrow street despite concerns raised. The Skipton Road Safety Committee proposed parking only be allowed on one side of Swadford Street at its narrowest part. But the suggestion was turned down, and it has now been proposed that the council install no waiting' signs in the street to prevent parking between 8am and 6pm.
