From the Telegraph & Argus of September 27, 1981...voices have been raised in protest after a choir was excluded from an annual competition. Bradford Cathedral Choir compete each year in the Three Cathedrals Festival, but this year the event has been renamed the West Riding Cathedral Festival, and Bradford has been excluded. The reason given is because of the recent dismissal of Bradford's organist and choir master.

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 27, 1956...boys at Shipley Grammar School have raised £1,066 to go towards the building of a new school hall. The pupils clubbed together to raise the funds.
