From the Telegraph & Argus of September 25, 1981...All in the garden is not rosy at Horton Bank Top First School Bradford. In fact they have no garden at all so parents, teachers and pupils have decided to do something about it. A gardening project has started this term to improve the school grounds. Head teacher Mike Charnock said: "Each class will have their own plot. Some of the older children have really got the gardening bug."

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 25, 1956...When the inhabitants of the condemned village of Halsetown, near St Ives, Cornwall, met last night to discuss their future they met a Bingley man who wants to buy their village and recondition it so that life for them can continue as usual. He is 63-year-old Herbert Ogden, a real estate dealer of Rhydding Grange. He said: "I like you villagers and I like your place. This is where the actor Henry Irving had his boyhood and my town Bradford is where he died."
