From the Telegraph & Argus of September 23, 1956...One of the finest brass band concerts in Bradford for many a day took place at St George's Hall yesterday - for the benefit of two microphones, some radio engineers and half a dozen people. The massed strength of the Black Dyke Mills, Brighouse & Rastrick and Manchester CWS bands under Alex Mortimer made music through the hot day from 10am until after 4pm. The recordings are to be transferred to stereophonic discs, the first of their kind to be developed.
