From the Telegraph & Argus of September 18, 1956...It is almost 100 years since David Livingstone appealed to the world to free Africa and last night the Rev Canon Broomfield asked the Bradford branch of the Universities Mission of Central Africa to help the church there. Mr Broomfield, general secretary of the mission to Africa, told of the dangers facing Africa - materialism, sectarianism and racial problems.
