From the Telegraph & Argus of September 11, 1981...The Lord Mayor of Bradford stepped into the breach when a 12-year-old French boy found himself stranded on the steps of City Hall. The boy, over here with a junior rugby league side was left in the lurch when his team mates went sight-seeing to York without him. He had missed the coach. Councillor Danny Coughlin gave him a lift to York in the mayoral car.

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 11, 1956...A former Bradford beauty queen says goodbye to England tomorrow when she sails for Canada. Jean Kershaw, 19, of Bombay Street, West Bowling, is going to Montreal to join her fianc, printing factory foreman John Roberts.
