25 years ago: Another election was to be held to decide if Bradford Council Labour leader Phil Beeley was to keep his seat. Mr Beeley was dropped by his ward party and replaced by Liaquat Ali as a candidate for Council elections, but the district party decided there were irregularities about the poll and ordered the election to be re-run.
50 years ago: Bradford Council was to work out the cost of cleaning the Cenotaph in Victoria Square after members who attended the Remembrance Day parade were appalled at its condition.
