Because Lord Mayor's officer Bob is a strapping 6 ft 4 ins tall, and his boss, Councillor Danny Coughlin, stands all of 5 ft in his ceremonial robes.

Taken from the Telegraph & Argus of May 20, 1956...Members of a reformed band were brassed off when they were denied the chance of reviving an old village tradition. Clayton Brass Band were set to play a Whitsuntide concert in Victoria Park, but despite an early application Bradford Council refused the proposals at the last minute.
