25 years ago: Carpets firm Weavercroft, based in Toftshaw Lane, Bradford, announced it was axing almost 100 of its 866 workforce because of the “continuing depressed state” of the market.
50 years ago: A boom in flights to Jersey from Leeds-Bradford was reported for the summer holiday period. Airline BKS Air Transport said it had turned away 2,000 would-be passengers.
