25 years ago: A gas blast ripped through the home of the district’s next Lord Mayor, Councillor Mohammed Ajeeb. A firefighter described the escape of the four people inside the house, including Coun Ajeeb and his wife, as miraculous.
50 years ago: A 21-gun salute by the 370 Fula Regiment of Bradford, Ilkley and Otley took place in Lister Park, Bradford, to mark the birth of Prince Andrew.
