The future of Shipley Hospital, Thornton View and the geriatric unit at St Luke's still hang in the balance. Bradford health authority agreed to adjourn talks on closing all three to give more time for counter-proposals to be collected. The decision will now be made later this month.

Ilkley Art Club, which has been in existence for more than 50 years, has decided to regard this year as a trial period, and if participation is not improved the club will wind up. Though the financial position is sound, only three or four members have been attending meetings. There will also be no exhibition this year.
