Students in Bradford were protesting at the weekend against apartheid in South Africa. Members of Bradford College's Fight Racism, Fight Imperialism group heard a talk from the daughter of South African political prisoner David Kitson, who is serving a 20-year jail term in Pretoria.

The future of Yeadon Airport became clearer when the Bradford Leeds Airport Committee met in Leeds today to discuss a development report prepared by the Ministry of Transport and civil Aviation commandant in Birmingham. Whitehall has agreed to derequisition in principal. It is generally agreed that Yeadon can never become an important air terminal like Ringway in Manchester.
