Christians in Bradford are calling for a clampdown on the city's sex shops. They want Bradford Council to take control of the shops by issuing licences brought in under new Government legislation. A number of church groups have lobbied councillors to support their call for the Council to licence existing premises and refuse new applications.

The burning question being asked today is whether Bradford schools will have an extended Christmas holiday because of a row over coal supplies? The Council's Education Committee has rejected the minutes of a sub-committee which included arrangements for next year's deliveries.
