25 Years Ago: Work had started on a much-needed nursery school following a long campaign by parents. When finished the £200,000 nursery at St Stephen’s CE First School, West Bowling, would be able to accommodate 60 children.
50 Years Ago: Twenty feet of high water had suddenly appeared near Bradford’s Forster Square thanks to a mishap by building contractors working on the entrance to Forster Square's railway station. Dealing with the emergency, waterworks staff had managed to secure a standpipe that had detached from a hydrant.
