25 Years Ago: Thousands of shoppers broke the law to support a campaign to keep supermarkets open on Sundays. Superstores and shops all over the Bradford area had opened in defiance of Britain’s current Sunday trading laws.
50 Years Ago: Keighley bus depot was in turmoil after drivers and conductors flocked to a meeting at Temperance Hall, to air their grievances against the management. With 30 buses still in the depot, bewildered officials tried to keep people calm as they demanded transport to take then home.
