25 Years Ago: A double decker school bus had set off virtually empty as parents carried out a threat to launch a classroom boycott. The bus, with room for 91 passengers, arrived at Fairfax Community School, with just four children on board for the first day of term.
50 Years Ago: Mr. Norman Haseldine, MP for Bradford West, laid the commemorative stone at the New Thornton Labour Club in Merrivale Road. The club which cost £47,000 was the first new Labour club to be built in the City for 30 years.
