A bid to stop Bradford Council giving evidence for the A1-M1 link route between Kirkhamgate and Dishforth was rejected at a public inquiry into the scheme. Stephen Gullick, chairman of Calverley residents' action group, said any proposals for a west of Leeds route were not relevant alternative schemes to the eastern routes supported by the Department of Transport.

The single storey part of North Beck Mills, Keighley, has been sold. The mill, which was formerly occupied by Tom Snowden and Sons and lately owned by Rego-Clothiers Ltd, has been sold to Smith Bros and Foster Ltd, who already occupy part of North Beck Mill.
