Part of a listed Bradford church may be knocked down and replaced by 40 sheltered accommodation flats. The diocesan authority is looking at plans by Headrow Housing Corporation to alter the 102-year-old St Luke's Church in Manningham, which is badly damaged by dry rot and vandalism.

Bradford is ready to clean up the area at the bottom of Manchester Road and has been for some months. But the health committee are still awaiting confirmation and they are getting impatient. This was made evident at yesterday's Bradford City Council meeting.
