25 years ago: The Government said it would allow the West Yorkshire Passenger Authority to borrow an extra £700,000 for its ambitious plans to bring trolleybuses back to the streets of Bradford, with the money to be used to develop the first trial route between the city centre and Buttershaw.
50 years ago: A fire said to be the "worst of the century so far" destroyed two large wool warehouse blocks in Crossland Street and Arundel Street in Bradford, with more than 100 firefighters deployed to control the blaze.
