25 years ago: Project Fullemploy, a Bradford training scheme for jobless people opened and championed by Prince Charles, was set to close after being hit by £1 million government funding cuts, despite supporting more than 1,000 people across the district in its three years of operation.
50 years ago: A 57-year-old man dived fully clothed into the Harold Park dam at Low Moor to save a two year-old girl who was struggling in deep water, the third time he had performed such a rescue at the same place.
