25 years ago: Three people, including a fireman, were injured after a machine fault caused a huge chemical blast at Watmoughs Printers in Idle, with police forced to take to the skies in the force's helicopter and use a megaphone to warn people to stay indoors.
50 years ago: The Minister of Health, Kenneth Robinson, praised Bradford for its "traditions of having a high regard for the needs of its blind citizens", as he visited the city to open the new Meadowcroft Home for the Blind on Rooley Lane.
