25 years ago: A driver needed treatment at Bradford Royal Infirmary for serious injuries to his hands after his van was involved in a collision with a runaway horse, owned by gipsies, on Sticker Lane.
50 years ago: The new £600,000 runway at Leeds-Bradford Airport, in Yeadon, was in full use for the first time after 18 months of work, with a 71-seater Viscount - the biggest plane ever to fly from the airport on a scheduled service - one of the first planes to take off.
