25 years ago: Scientists at Bradford University claimed to have developed a "life-saving" new drug - Zofran - that would revolutionise cancer treatment, by combatting the unpleasant side-effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, such as extreme nausea and sickness.
50 years ago: A lecturer in Russian, who had been appointed to the staff at the Bradford Institute of Technology, was arrested by security police while leading a student teacher's training trip to Moscow, on suspicion of "alleged involvement in subversive activities."
