25 years ago: One of Yorkshire’s oldest weaving firms - Parkland Manufacturing Co Ltd - unveiled a £10 million investment in high-tech machinery at its Albion Mills base in Greengates, which the company claimed would put Bradford at the forefront of a textile export drive.
50 years ago: A 36-year-old Bradford labourer was fined £12 and banned from driving for 12 months after being found to have drunk the equivalent of 11 pints when stopped by police for blocking Gaythorne Road with his van.
