25 years ago: The schools' revolt against Bradford Council spending cuts was stepped up a notch after three of the district's biggest schools - Carlton Bolling College, Rhodesway Upper School, and Ingrow First School - sent their budgets back to City Hall, saying they would mean sacking teachers and damaging children's education.
50 years ago: Work was set to begin to transform the Beech Mount estate in Baildon into a £75,000 complex for the elderly, featuring 22 bungalows and nine self-contained flats.
