25 years ago: The Telegraph & Argus switchboard was jammed after an earth tremor measuring about three on the Richter Scale rocked Bradford, with callers across the district reporting the ground moving beneath their feet and buildings shaking with the force of the quake.
50 years ago: A 22 year-old scaffolding worker was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary for "multiple injuries" after he slipped and fell 80 feet while working on the ninth floor of a block of flats in Danehill Drive, Holme Wood.
