25 years ago: Illegally-camped gypsies could be run out of town under sweeping new powers given to Bradford Council, after the Tory-led authority won a lengthy battle to get 'designation', which meant they could evict camps on the spot without going through the courts.
50 years ago: Bradford detectives were looking to trace two bogus drain repairmen who were said to be posing as Council officials to convince elderly people to hand over cash for so-called emergency repairs, with the pair said to have struck numerous times across the city.
