25 years ago: Bosses at Yorkshire Water were set to approve a £45million scheme to completely overhaul Bradford's crumbling sewer system, with the city centre's main Victorian pipelines the first to be replaced and repaired at a cost of £9.4million.
50 years ago: A new report by the Local Affairs Committee of the Bradford Junior Chamber of Commerce argued that 60 per cent of the district's petrol stations were "unsatisfactory", with staff unwilling to help motorists at the pumps, and many sites looking neglected and "dingy."
