25 years ago: Bradford City chairman David Simpson said he had been "absolutely sick" to have to dismiss Bantams boss Terry Yorath, but said the decision was "merely down to results", after a 3-1 defeat at Swindon left the club four points adrift of safety in the Second Division.
50 years ago: Nearly all schools across Bradford were set to introduce a new examination for 16-year-old pupils - the Certificate of Secondary Education - alongside the GCE, despite the qualification not being rolled out across West Riding until the following year.
