25 years ago: A mystery illness was sweeping through Whetley Lane First School in Bradford, with more than 100 children and teachers affected by the bug, the symptoms of which - including rashes, swollen eyes, a cough, and tiredness - had left the council's health experts baffled.
50 years ago: More than 200 prizes, including a trip to Amsterdam and a weekend at the Piccadilly Hotel in London, were given away at the Bradford Charity Press Ball, held at the Mecca Locarno in front of a host of guests and dignitaries.
