25 years ago: West Yorkshire Passenger Authority and Bradford Council confirmed they would be seeking government support for a £47 million plan to connect the district to the high-speed electric rail network, after an independent financial report stated running Inter-City services into Bradford would be viable.
50 years ago: Members of the Bradford Road Safety Committee urged police to take greater action in enforcing speed limits across the district in a bid to cut the number of road accidents, which had reached a high of 1,641 the previous year.
