25 years ago: The Bradford-based mail order shopping giant Grattan announced it was to axe a further 100 jobs, blaming high interest rates and "a downturn in sales demand", only months after 450 staff were laid off by the firm.
50 years ago: Bradford Council announced plans to sell its old civic stage coach, which had been left gathering dust in a stable at Esholt Hall for the past 12 years, to allow it to be fully restored and made available for future civic occasions.
