25 years ago: Bradford Council said almost £250,000 would need to be spent on crowd safety measures at Odsal Stadium to make it fit to stage the World Speedway finals, with the authority facing the dilemma of spending the cash despite the ground being up for sale.
50 years ago: Jack Kelly resigned from the board of directors at Bradford City FC after the club suspended his son, Brian Kelly, from playing for 14 days, after he refused to travel to a game at Lincoln as a reserve.
