25 years ago: A new report by Bradford's Adult Literacy Group claimed one in six adults across the district, equating to about 61,000 people, could not read, write, do basic maths, or follow simple instructions in English, attributing the issue to a lack of schooling or physical disabilities.
50 years ago: A Bradford man was killed and four other people injured after snow and black ice caused a seven-vehicle pile-up - including two bread vans and a coal lorry - on Wakefield Road in Drighlington.
