25 years ago: A new report by the right-wing think tank, the Adam Smith Institute, pinpointed Bradford as an ideal site for American-style private streets guarded by security patrols, a scheme designed to cut crime levels and prevent “decaying cities.
50 years ago: June got off to its coldest start across the Bradford district since 1936, with the temperature at Lister Park reading just 42.6 degrees Fahrenheit, nearly 20 degrees below average.
