25 years ago: Councillors from the Shipley East ward said residents in the area were becoming “increasingly angry and frustrated” about an illegal travellers camp set up on council-owned sports fields at Gaisby Stray.
50 years ago: A Keighley lorry driver escaped uninjured when his five-tonne vehicle, loaded with several tonnes of lime, crashed to the bottom of a 75ft ravine at Wainstalls, above Halifax.
