From the Telegraph & Argus of November 9, 1981...a vicar's public apology for a church play has astonished a Yorkshire TV writer. The attack on the play, Children's Day written by Willis Hall and Keith Waterhouse, came from Reverend Michael Rear, after it was staged at the parish hall at St Margaret's Church, Thornbury, Bradford. Father Rear, vicar since 1973, said the play contained a lot of bad language and immoral attitudes which did not suit the church. Mr Hall, of Oakworth, writes TV's Worzel Gummidge. He said: "I'm totally astonished that anyone can find anything offensive about it - it is a very mild play."

From the Telegraph & Argus of November 9, 1956...Bradford hospital authorities and welfare committee are worried about hospital beds and are asking four MPs to help them out. Hospital beds are being occupied by elderly people who no longer need them but the old folks have no alternative accommodation. To discuss the situation, a deputation for the Bradford B' Hospital Management Committee met representative of the Corporation Welfare Committee.
