Word reaches us of a new book about Bingley’s past which might be of interest to Remember When? readers.
Bingley Past & Present is written by Dr Gary Firth & Malcom Hill, and is described as a nostalgic look at Bingley illustrating the changes that have taken place in the town during the last 150 years.
This £9.99 paperback features photographs from the late Victorian heyday during the town’s transition from a small market community to a successful industrial township.
Kerry Green, from publishers The History Press, says the book is “a visual record comparing the changing modes of fashion and transportation, shops and businesses, houses and public buildings, illustrating the strong sense of local history”.
