Telegraph & Argus Saturday, June 8, 1968:
Seventeen people had been hurt when two Bradford Corporation buses crashed head-on near Drummonds Mill, Bradford. Fourteen passengers and three bus crew were treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary and one woman was later admitted to Bradford Eye and Ear Hospital. The bus driver also managed to escape serious injury, after he had lifted his hands to his face, braked, jerked forward, and then was saved by his tummy pressing into the wheel. “If I had not covered my face with my hands I would have no face now,” said the driver. One eye witness who watched the accident from his first-floor drawing room, said he saw no panic among passengers. They all quietly walked from the bus.
