Telegraph & Argus, Tuesday, July 1, 1997:
Blood service chiefs had hailed the Telegraph & Argus Time For A Pint campaign as a stunning success. An amazing 3,114 people from across the Bradford district had smashed the appeal target by answering an urgent plea to make up a huge shortfall in blood supplies from the area. More than 400 new donors from all parts of the community had been recruited by the campaign and now National Blood Service bosses were hoping they would become regular visitors to the Rawson Road Blood Donor centre in Bradford. T&A staff were also doing their bit for the appeal with 40 donors giving a pint each at specially-organised sessions.
