Last Saturday’s item about notable people from Allerton prompted a reader to remind us that distinguished lawyer Stanley Brodie QC was born in Allerton in 1930.
His parents were Abraham, a doctor, and Cissie Brodie. He was educated at Bradford Grammar School and Balliol College, Oxford, where he was president of the university’s Law Society.
Mr Brodie was called to the Inner Temple Bar in 1954. His specialisms include commercial law, entertainment and the media and human rights.
He has a country estate in Ayrshire, Scotland.
