Runners from Pudsey Pacers have been busy testing themselves in local events.
At the Idle Trail Race, Gary Bailey, following his good run at the club's own Pudsey 10K, finished in 39min 46sec. Jonathan Smithurst crossed the line in 46.59, Dave Butler in 47.45 and Chris Harris in 59.13.
At the latest veterans' race at Crossgates, the Pacers had ten women and 19 men running and confirmed their healthy positions at the top of the team and individual lists.
Darren Burnley (fourth) and Nigel Armitage (sixth) were their leading runners.
The Golden Acre Team Race brought a crop of good times. Robert Samuels finished in 18.10 and was followed by Sue Ransome 21.36, Dave Magee 17.59, Chris Smith 19.11, Steve Boom 18.45, Sharon Hague 21.42, John Pop 21.23, Philip Dutton 18.36, Andrew Byrom 20.25, Paul Taylor 22.29, Dave Cooper 20.25, Kath Leslie 23.03, Jenny Cooper 23.30, Neil Wallace 21.33 and Graham Fisher 25.23.
At the Round Hill Fell Race, all-terrain runner James Clark ran the nine-mile course in 1.00.27, Jim Wheldon clocking 1.09.05, Steve Boom 1.13.08, Dave Woodhead 1.14.21, Chris Smith 1.18.21, Andrew Byrom 1.22.28, Dave Cooper 1.22.34 and Sharon Hague and Jenny Cooper in 1.34.37.
James Clark ran yet another triathlon, this time at Hatfield. He came 58th in a time of 1hr 20min and was third in the run. He also did the Flat Cap 5.5-Mile Off-Road Run, coming third in 31.35. Mark Nolan was 22nd in 36.02.
Woodhead, another prolific runner, did the Great Warford Ten-Mile Race near Manchester in a time of 1.07.41. His dad John ran well for 1.26.28.
