Stephen Chew of Wharfedale Harriers clinched overall victory in the BURNLEY & PENDLE GRAND PRIX SERIES with a dominant final run at Boulsworth.
The series tested runners over fell, road and trail disciplines over 15 events, with Chew winning all categories.
A time of 53min 16sec over a 7.5-mile Boulsworth course, including 1,280 feet of climbing, took him well clear of nearest challenger James Titnus (Pudsey & Bramley).
Darren Burnely came home third for Pudsey Pacers and won the V45 category, with Gareth Hird (Wharfedale) fifth. Jim Wheldon (Pudsey Pacers) was the first V60 back.
The ladies race was won by Helen Fines (Calder Valley) in 57.10, two minutes clear of Amy Green (Keighley ).
Green took the overall female title and led the way in the fell and road races. Sarah Tipier (Wharfedale) won the trail category.
ARNCLIFFE GALA offered a short, sharp fell race of 1.9 miles with 459 feet of climbing and Helen Glover took first place in the women’s race ahead of Rebecca Mon-Williams (Ilkley ).
The vast experience of Ian Holmes (Bingley ) was not enough to secure victory in the men’s race as under-23 runner Duncan Birtwistle (Harrogate) led the field home in 10.54 with three seconds to spare. Ted Mason (Wharfedale) was third.
The BOFRA FELL RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS were at Cray for a 2.8-mile race with 1,200 feet of ascent.
Wharfedale took all but one of the podium positions in the senior race as Sam Watson, Ted Mason and Johnny Bradshaw (under-23) made it a whitewash among the men.
Pippa Barrett (Keighley under-23) prevented a clean sweep in the women’s race by taking third place behind Wharfedale duo Jean Powell and Val Done.
The increasingly popular BRADFORD PARK RUN 5K attracted over 200 runners, with Sam Clegg getting the better of in-form Will Kerr (Saltaire ) by six seconds in a winning time of 16.57.
Both runners set personal bests for the course, with Keighley’s Marko Gvero third in his first appearance at the event.
An equally close women’s race saw Ellie Kitchen (Warwick Uni) finish in 20.24 to pip Andrea Dennison (Bingley), with Hannah Oldroyd (Airedale Dodgers) third.
