Andrew Pearson of Longwood Harriers conquered hot and windy conditions to win the ECCUP TEN-MILE ROAD RACE.
Second place went to Ian Fisher, formerly of Otley AC, and Bingley’s Tim Midgley was third. Other local runners included: Thomas Midgley (Otley AC) sixth, Darren Brame (Keighley & Craven) seventh, Mark Hall (Otley AC) tenth, Matt Nowell (Bradford Airedale) 15th, Will Kerr (St Bedes) 19th, Martin Firth (Queensbury) 24th, Nick Richardson (Ilkley Harriers) 26th.
Bingley Harriers duo Victoria Wilkinson and Mary Wilkinson represented Great Britain in the EUROPEAN MOUNTAIN RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS in Bulgaria.
They finished in tenth and 14th places respectively, leading the GB team to fifth place overall.
The newly-revived ADDINGHAM GALA FELL RACE, organised by Ilkley Harriers, was won by Gareth Hird of Wharfedale Harriers in 23min 15sec.
Wharfedale runners also occupied second and third places through Jason Hemsley and Rohan Akers, while Fiona Blackett was first lady to finish in seventh place.
Kevin Ogden of Spenborough AC was first to finish in the weekly BRADFORD PARK RUN 5K TIME TRIAL in Lister Park after clocking 17:09.
John Holah (Pudsey & Bramley) was second and Steve Large (Horsforth Harriers) third. Marisol Carrera (Bingley Harriers) was first lady in 21:13.
Over in Leeds, the HYDE PARK 5K PARK RUN was won by Daniel Fitzhugh of Valley Striders in 17:39.
The Baildon CARNIVAL CANTER, organised by Baildon Runners, was won by Quentin Lewis of the host club in a new record time of 19:14.
But another fine run saw nine-year-old Natasha Pickard finish fifth overall in the one-mile under-14s fun run.
Only a delayed start enabled her to take part after arriving late from her sister’s birthday party.
With no time to warm up – and running in a fleece and leggings as the race started before she could change, the Sandals School pupil was first girl home, just pipping Abigail White of Bingley Harriers.
Otley AC host the WASHBURN VALLEY RELAYS on Friday, starting at 7pm. It features three legs of between three and four miles per team around Fewston and Swinsty reservoirs.
