Joshua Woodcock-Shaw won the West Yorkshire League senior men’s cross-country event at Bramley on Saturday.
The Spenborough runner had a 27-second gap over fellow junior Brad Traviss (Halifax) at the end, clocking in at 33min 17 sec.

After years of domination, Leeds City again failed to field a senior men’s team.
Perennial rivals Bingley and Holmfirth were down too, allowing Wharfedale to win the day’s points.
James Hall was first Wharfedale runner (eighth), just behind Andy Brown of Bingley and followed by Skyrac’s Nick Howard.
Liam Stedman and Kevin Ogden (tenth and 12th) helped Spenborough to second team place, with Bingley third and Skyrac fifth.
In the senior ladies race, Ilkley (third), Keighley & Craven (fifth), Spenborough (sixth), Skyrac (seventh) and Wharfedale (eighth) all impressed, although Wetherby and Holmfirth were clear team winners.
Pudsey & Bramley’s Alex Bell was an individual fourth (19:22) behind the non-scoring Racheal Bamford.
Emma Wilkinson (fifth, Spen), Sally Morley (eighth, Ilkley), Zara Knappy (12th, Keighley & Craven), Sue Beconsall (16th, Bingley) and Rebecca Cesar-de-Sa (18th, Skyrac) led their clubs’ scoring.
Sunday’s Guy Fawkes 10 from Ripley saw over 800 finishers round this scenic, undulating course.
Dragons (Yeadon), Eccleshill Road Runners, Ilkley Harriers and Otley AC all provided large turn-outs.
Otley’s Ian Fisher (third in 57:14) and Scott Harrington (sixth, 59:07) performed strongly at the front.
Debbie Bland of Baildon was second over-60s lady (83:20), while Bingley’s Stuart Thompson was second male in the same age group (74:46).
The Chevin Chiller is a new race put on by the Chevin Forest Run Sunday organisation.
The Hallowe’en 6.7km scamper through the Danefield Estate saw lots of uneven paths navigated with head torches.
Andy Bedford (Saltaire Striders) was first ghoul home in 28:54, with Spiderman in his wake. The Grim Sweeper was chasing all 182 souls, reaping up any lost limbs.
The Shepherd’s Skyline over 10km from Todmorden on Saturday was won by Ilkley’s Tom Adams (41:44) ahead of Horwich’s Chris Farrell, with Ian Nixon (Pudsey & Bramley) sixth. Helen Fines from Calder Valley won the ladies race (51:10).
