Tom Adams finished more than three minutes clear as he won the inaugural Over the Odda 10K.
The Ilkley Harrier clocked 37min 39sec as he dominated the race, which started from Hawksworth and was run in beautiful spring weather over a challenging course with steep climbs and varied terrain.
A total of 158 competitors took part, including 21 runners from the six Airedale Athletics clubs in an event that doubled as part of their Off-Road Summer Challenge inter-club competition.
From this group Simon Pass (Saltaire) and Quentin Lewis (Baildon) finished second and third overall in 41:13 and 41:30 respectively.
Chris Burke, also of Baildon, was fifth overall and first M45 after clocking 44:32. For Skyrac, Rebecca Cesar de Sa, Joanne Thompson and Jenny Beaumont were all well placed in the women’s section.
Carolyn Hargreaves (Baildon) also finished strongly to take second position in the F55 category.
After skilfully negotiating the Hawksworth course in 72nd place overall, Neil Fairburn of Baildon has moved up to lead the individual points table.
Darren Midgley (Queensbury) and Hargreaves follow closely behind in second and third respectively, while Baildon, Queensbury and Saltaire head the club challenge.
Emma Stoney of Baildon Runners organised the Over the Odda event, with proceeds going to Hawksworth Primary School.
Anna Smith (Queensbury Running Club) runs the inter-club series and there are three very different races in the series during the next month.
Pendle Cloughs takes place this Saturday, with the Bluebell Trail on Sunday and the Apperley Bridge Canter on Thursday, May 23.
*l Airedale Athletics held their AGM at Undercliffe Cricket Club on Monday.
The main item concerned the proposal to create competitive teams and make AA a competition entity as well as an association.
Discussions are continuing and an EGM is expected in June once all member clubs have had more opportunity to consider the implications of whether this step should be taken.
